He attended high school in both West Linn and Gates. He graduated from Gates High School in 1941. After high school he served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater with the Seabees. He worked for Southern Pacific Rail Road and Amtrak for over 37 years. Bud married Coramae Miller (deceased) in 1949. They resided in West Linn for over 50 years. Survivors are their 6 children, Donna Douglass of Canby, Marjorie Guy and Rick Asche of West Linn, Larry Asche of Gladstone, Vicki Poyser and Cindy Bertrand of Oregon City, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and his current wife Betty Bock of Canby whom he married in 2003.
