J.J. "Jack" and Beulah Estelle were married December 8, 1912. He was a lifelong farmer, born in Calhoun County, Georgia, but spent most of his life farming in north Alabama: Boaz, Marshall Co, and Attalla, Etowah Co, where he died. He was survived by his loving wife and partner, eight children; grandchildren; preceded in death by baby daughter, Gladis. I have no knowledge of his biological parents and have been told his adoptive father was probably from Georgia, and it was his name Granddaddy Phillips took. His adoptive mother's name was Mary Smith.
