On August~15~1909 Clara Belle age 4 was riding the horse with her mother Emma{Reeves}Bradley and baby brother Coien who was only 2 years old when lightning struck them killed her mother, brother and the horse, she survived.

CLARA BELLE PORTER
Mrs. Carla Belle Porter, 85, of Route 2, Flemingsburg Ky, died at 5:20 p.m. Monday, July 3~1989 at the Fleming County Hospital Flemingsburg, Kentucky.
She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Orville Frank Porter who died in October of 1974.
A Fleming County Ky native, she was born on April~18~1904, to the late George Washington and Emma{Reeves}Bradley.
Survivors include a daughter Morene{Porter}Maddox of Winchester, Ohio; two sons Donald Porter of Bourbon County Ky and Jerry Ray Porter of Lexington Ky; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at the Boone-Nickel Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Burial was in the the Longview Cemetery in Bethel Kentucky.
