CLOVERPORT - LEO PATE, 72, of Cloverport, died Sunday, April 19, 1992, at his home. He was born in Cloverport and was a crane operator with Operating Engineers Local No. 181 before retiring. He was a member of the Catholic Church and Tell City (Ind.) Moose Lodge No. 1424 and was a Navy veteran of World War II. A granddaughter, Julie Pate, died Jan. 17, 1979. Survivors include his wife, Edna Tate Pate; four sons, Leroy and Tim Pate, both of Cloverport, Paul Pate of Georgetown, Ind., and Jim Pate of Tell City; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Pate of Louisville, William A. "Billy" Pate of Paducah and Lewis C. Pate; and four sisters, Edna Hanke, Edith Weber and Martine Dorth, all of Louisville, and Lois Kraus of Tell City. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose Catholic Church, Cloverport. Burial in Cloverport Cemetery. Visitation after 2 p.m. today at Wallace Funeral Home, Cloverport, where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Hospice of Central Kentucky or the American Cancer Society.
