His parents were John and Bertha Bradley Allison. He was born south of Aurora in a small community then called Mudville on July 2, 1879. The family soon moved to Independence where they lived for a few years and then to Lamont where he grew to manhood.
Mr. Allison was employed by three hardware stores here, staying as an employee as the firm passed from Theel to T.W. Rogers to Smith Brothers.
On July 2, 1904 he was married to Alma Pierce at Independence. They were the parents of four sons and two daughters.
In June of 1928 the family moved to Charles City where his wife died in 1936.
During World War 11 Mr. Allison went to work as an expert sheet metal man in the Marin shipyards near Sausolite, California. He returned to Charles City at the close of the war.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two infant sons and his son Raymond who died of a heart attack while at work for North American Construction Company in Greenland. Survivors are eight great grandchildren, ten grandchildren, his son, Leland of Baraboo, Wisconsin, his daughters, Mrs. Harold Marsh (Lois) of Charles City and Mrs. Don Malven (Bessie) of Manchester.
Funeral services were held in the Grossmas-Hage Funeral Home at 10:30 last Friday at Charles City. Service was conducted by Reverend Lester Hunt of the Charles City Baptist Church of which Mr. Allison was a member. Graveside services were held at Campton cemetery at 2:30 by the Reverend Albert Snyder.
