Frances Dorothy Stroik of Birch Run. Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was 88 years of age.

Frances Dorothy Giltrop was born October 20, 1923 in Bridgeport Township to the late Henry and Sophy (Moskal) Giltrop. She married Anthony Stroik on November 9, 1943 in Bridgeport. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2008.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Altar Society.
Frances loved gardening and her favorite pastime was nurturing her beautiful flowers and trees. She passed this love along to her children and grandchildren. She was also an avid NASCAR fan. Her family was her greatest treasure and she was happiest when she was surrounded by them.

Surviving are: two sons and two daughters, James Stroik of Sanford, William (Joan) Stroik , Darlene (Larry) Thompson and Elaine (Terry) Matzke all of Birch Run; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Giltrop; sisters, Marie Wellman, Margaret (Howard) Williams, Martha Bierman, Lorraine Psiuk and JoAnn Popp; sister in law, Marilyn Giltrop; brother in law, Jack Zietz; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by: a great grandson; brothers, James, William and Bernard Giltrop; sister, Bernadette Zietz; brothers in law, Charles Wellman, Andrew Psiuk, James Popp and Alvin Bierman; sister in law, Anne Giltrop.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Friday, September 14, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Birch Run. Rev. Fr. John Sarge officiating. Burial will be at Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Thursday from 1-8PM where a parish Rosary service will be held at 6:30PM. Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Steeple Fund or Bell Tower Fund.
