 Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie Adams Higgins, 88, we're held Saturday, March 8 at 2 p.m. in the McMikle Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. Paul Presson, minister of the Church of God of East Prairie, officiated. Burial was in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
  
Mrs. Higgins, a resident of 405 Nelson St., East Prairie, died Wednesday, March 5 at 6:10 p.m. at the Host House in Charleston.

  She was born March 7, 1891 in New Madrid County to the late Jim and Mary Patterson Allen. She had lived in New Madrid and Mississippi Counties most of her life and was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

  In 1907 she married Charles F. Adams, who died Dec. 4, 1952.  On Sep. 14, 1956, she married Carter Higgins, who survives.

  In addition to her husband, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Delphia) Day of Route 1, Matthews and Mrs. Mary Fleming Ingle of Peoria, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Sally McMikle of East Prairie; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

  Three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandchild preceded her in death.
