Mrs. Elsie J. Aycock, born in November, 1915, passed away at home on Monday morning, September 10, 2012. She was a devout and practicing Catholic. Elsie was born and raised in Charleston South Carolina. She moved to Savannah Ga where met and later married JM Aycock Sr. in 1936. As a dedicated loving mother and housewife, she also helped manage a farm and experience the time before electricity was available in the rural area of Bulloch County. She received the Meritorious Service Award from the US Air Force Voluntary Ground Observer Corp on 1959 for 150 hours of faithful service. She was a girl scout troupe leader for several years in the late 1950's in the Brooklet Community. She was always available and active to help the schools. She became certified in Real Estate Sales in 1975. She had several awards and recognition from the Karagheusian, Inc. where she worked as quality control inspector. She was active in the Legion of Mary community programs at St. Mathews Catholic Church. Elsie enjoyed many kinds of yard work and oil painting for many years. She was always willing to be with her grandchildren and give them much loving care.

Surviving are three children; J.M. Aycock, Jr. (Linda), Dolores Hines, and Beth Deal, all of Brooklet Georgia; four grandchildren, Angel Aycock, Jim Aycock, Statesboro Georgia, Cannon Moreno, Brooklet, GA and Connie Henley Nichols (Jim) Atlanta Georgia; a sister, Selma J Nort of Atlanta, and several nieces and nephews. She has one deceased grandson, Carl Henley. She is survived by six great grand children.

Our family would like to express their appreciation to our special loving caregivers, Ginger and Carmen. We thank and greatly appreciate the Ogeechee Area Hospice organization. Hospice has many very dedicated, talented, and loving people.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 11th 2012, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 12,2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mathews Catholic Church, 221 John Paul Ave. Statesboro, GA with Pastor Fr. Brett Brannen officiating.

Interment will be at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
