Peacefully, on Monday, June 17, 1985, at Roblin District Health Centre, Dmytro Znak,age 75 years of Roblin, Manitoba.
Dmytro was born in the Merridale district on October 15,1909, a son of Peter and Catherine Znak (nee Sadowiak).
He received his education at Postup School, and following his schooling helped his father and brothers on their farm.

Dmytro also had a trap-line in Saskatchewan and worked in the sawmills in the Shortdale district for several winters.

Dmytro was united In holy matrimony to Sophie Polak on October 13,1941 at the Ukrainian Catholic Church at Postup.

Following their marriage Dmytro and Sophie farmed, and raised their family in the Shortdale district.

They moved to Roblin In 1973. Dmytro then was employed with Roblin Forest Products, retiring from there in 1978. He was on the Board of Trustees of Gilbert School at Shortdale, and a member of Shortdale and Roblin Holy Redeemer Ukrainian Catholic Churches.

Dmytro truly enjoyed his farm work, and worked hard at his mixed farming. He was very particular with his machinery and liked to have everything fixed up in readiness for the field. Dmytro especially enjoyed his family and their affairs, and especially the grandchildren.

Surviving to mourn his death and cherish many fond memories are: his beloved wife Sophie of Roblin; sons, Chris and his wife Starlet of Shortdale, Vince of Coquitlam,B.C.; Daughter, Suzanne (Mrs. Orville Weselowski) of Thompson, Man.; brother,Jacob Znak and his wife Mary-Jo of Seattle,Wash.; sister, Elizabeth (Mrs. Herb Hazel) of Markham, Ont.; sister in- law, Mrs. Elsie Znak of Roblin, as well as his eight beloved grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Dmytro was predeceased by his father Peter Znak in 1958, mother, Catherine Znak in 1954, brothers, John - 1920, Fred -1979, Adam - 1980; sisters, Mrs. Mary Sorochuk in 1975, and Mrs. Olga Sorochuk in 1978.

Prayer services were held on Wednesday, June 19, 1985 at 7:00 p.m. from Roblin Memorial Chapel with Fr. Peter Stasiuk and Fr. Peter Pidskalny officiating.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 20, 1985 at 10:00 a.m. from Holy Redeemer Ukrainian Catholic Church, Roblin, Manitoba, with Fr.Peter Stasiuk and Fr.Peter Pidskalny officiating.

Pallbearers were: Myron Sorokopud, Gil Geek, Les Creek, Alex Lichkowski, Russell Mysllchuk, and Don Demchuk,

Interment: In Holy Redeemer Ukrainian Catholic Parish Cemetery, Roblin, Manitoba.

Following Interment services the Ukrainian C.W.L. hosted a memorial luncheon in the Parish Hall. Roblin Memorial Chapel Ltd. were in charge of funeral arrangements.
