Ware's exact burial location is unknown, but family information indicates that he is buried in Overton County, Tennessee.

A descendent of Ware (Find a Grave member 48206578) and a member of DAR has updated us that his DAR record is not currently valid at this time for membership. So the information we had on this page was wrong at least until he gets reinstated. This happens quite often within the DAR to people who were considered DAR ancestors and it turns out not to have enough information in the original applications to verify their Rev War service.

For reference, the DAR info we cited from the DAR GRS database was:
DAR Ancestor #: A085830 - DAR membership based on patriotic service only, no military. Service Description: 1) PAID FOR SERVICES
Rev War Service: Patriot: Public Service Claim ----Comm's Blk. I, p. 361, Fluvanna County, Virginia, Warrant for riding express for the State allowed by Crt. of Fluvanna, August 13, 1783; four days Service in polling canoes up James River loaded with military stores to the Fork of Tye River, June 8, 1781. Ware Oglesby was 13 years old at the time from Buckingham County and Fluvanna County, Virginia. Based on his Rev War service information indicated above there is no doubt that Ware Oglesby was born in 1768.
