Annetta Jeanne Hargrave
Annetta Jeanne Hargrave, 87, Osage Beach, went to be with Jesus on Oct. 1, 2008.
She was born on the family farm in Hamilton on June 30, 1921, a daughter to Oscar and Kittie (Sparks) Axon.
Jeanne was united in holy matrimony on Feb. 7, 1943 to Joseph R. Hargrave and together they raised three children - Barbara Jo, Joseph Jr., and Kittie Valarie.
Jeanne was raised with solid Christian values and a strong work ethic. She attended college on a piano scholarship at Baker University in Ballwin, KS. She had professed Jesus as her Savior and lived strong in her faith, acknowledging the Lord God's perfect plan for her life. A school music teacher, she worked tirelessly to help provide and care for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hargrave; daughter Barbara Jo; parents Oscar and Kittie Axon and older brothers, William Vernon Axon.
Jeanne is survived by her son, Joseph of the home, and his finance Diona Dungan; daughter Kittie and husband Terry Dabney, Osage Beach; younger brother Larry Lynn Axon and wife Elizabeth of Springfield and sister-in-law, Ella Mae Axon of Phoenix, AZ.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 4 at Riverview Baptist Church, Osage Beach. Burial was in Eudora Cemetery, Eudora, KS. Memorial donations to honor the life of Jeanne are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
