Gloria Jean Lang, age 67, of Hays died Friday, September 7, 2012, at her home in Hays.
Gloria was born August 8, 1945, in Loretto, Kansas, to Sylvester and Alfreda (Pfeifer) Urban. She married Vic Lang on July 7, 1987 in Hays. She was an office manager for R. P. Nixon Oil Company. She was a graduate of Victoria High School and attended Fort Hays State University. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her husband, Vic, of the home in Hays; sons, Greg Brown of Colby, KS. And Scott Brown and his wife, Theresa of Smolan, KS.; daughter, Jaime Brown and her significant other, Christopher Winslow of Hays; step sons, David Lang and his wife, Rhonda of Lansing, KS. and Tommy Lang of Hays; step daughter; Dana Timmons of St. Francis, KS.; brother, Barry Urban of Loretto, KS.; sister, Janice Urban of Hays; seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Brown.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays. There will be a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 6:00 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Memorials may be given in her name and memory to an education fund for her grandchildren or for masses.
