Funeral services were held Monday, June 25 for Dr. Joseph Murphy, long time Murdo physician. He passed away at 8:33 on June 22nd at the Bettendorf, Iowa hospital.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 25th at 10 o'clock at St. John's Vianny Church in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Dr. Murphy practiced medicine here from 1933 to 1965. It is estimated that he delivered more then 2,300 babies during his years of service in this community.
He left Murdo in 1965 and was a doctor at the Veterans Administration hospital in Hot Springs for a number of years and then he and his wife, Florence retired to Bettendorf, Ia.
