She married Wilbur L. Smitha on June 24, 1950, and he preceded her in passing in 1986.
She was a 1941 graduate of Brownsburg High School, and continued her education at Central Business College. She was a bookkeeper for Prestolite Battery and the family business, Wilbur L. Smitha, Inc. for 50 years.
Thelma was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Michael L. (Denese) Smitha; two granddaughters, Emily Ann (Kevin) Ward and Anna Smitha (Trent) Hahn; four great grandchildren, Lexie and Allie Ward, Jake and Julia Hahn; and nephew, Melvin (Betty) Weddle.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Paul Weddle and Marion Weddle.
