Stella (Medeiros) Ferreira, a lifelong Taunton resident, died Sunday Mar 17, 2002 at Morton Hospital and Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was 79. She was the wife of Alfred R. Ferreira of Taunton. Born in Taunton, Mrs. Ferreira was educated in Taunton Schools. Mrs. Ferreira was a housewife and attended St. Anthony of Lisbon Church. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Correia) Medeiros. Besides her husband, Mrs. Ferreira is survived by three daughters, Deborah M. Stevenson, Cynthia A. Berry and Theresa A. Ferreira, all of Taunton; four sons, Marc A. Ferreira of Lakeville and Kenneth R., Alfred . Jr., and Stephen M. Ferreira, all of Taunton; a sister, Marguerite Perry of Taunton; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Elizabeth Viera Fontes, Evelyn Costa and Manuel Medeiros. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Marshall Funeral Home followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Lisbon Church. She will be buried in St. Joseph Cemetery.
