CHARLES ADAMS

Funeral services for Charles Adams will be held Thursday, September 6. 2012 at 2 p.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Minden. Officiating will be Rev. Don McComick, Tim Greer and Rev. Richard Methvin. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Charles was born January 10, 1931 in Warren Arkansas and entered into rest September 3, 2012 in Minden. He was a retired school bus driver with Webster Parish School Board, and worked many years in maintenance at LAAP and a mechanic. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing. He was an active member and deacon at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church.

His first wife Nora Jean Adams, sister Mary Chandler, brothers Doyce Adams and Walter Adams, and grandsons Chad Hopkins and John Mathias preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Irene Adams of Minden, daughters, Barbara Lear of Kilgore, Texas, Paulette Hopkins and husband Jimmy of Minden, Kathy Hopkins and husband Rodney of Bastrop, stepson Larry Baker of Arcadia, Stepdaughter Patricia Watson of Biloxi, Mississippi, Darlene Lum of Buna, Texas, sister Betty Foreman of Monticello, Arkansas, Brother Doyle Adams of Minden, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and special family friend Donald Sawyer of Minden.

Pallbearers will be Gary Floyd, Dewayne Chapman, Bill Barnett, Phil Demaline, Tim Greer, and Kenneth Greer.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Powell and Elton Howell.

The family extends a special thanks to Agape Hospice, Dr. Hines and staff.
