John Alfred "Jack" Greenshields, age 88. Resident of West Bloomfield, MI, died July 17, 2012 peacefully with his loving wife by his side. Jack was born on July 14, 1924 in Detroit MI., to Robert and Elisabeth Greenshields. He lived a full and brilliant life and will always be remembered for his strength, wisdom, and well-worn sense of humor. Jack had a smile that could light up a room and he always made everyone who crossed his path a happier, better person for knowing him. As a spirited young man, refusing to be left behind by his two older brothers, he joined the armed forces where he served our country honorably. He then came home to marry the love of his life Margaret and father two amazing sons, Craig and Clark. Jack loved his family, worked hard to support them, and in turn was incredibly proud of the lives they led. He will always be remembered for his upbeat take on life, incredible stories, and rather corny sense of humor that never failed to bring a smile to everyone's face. Jack is survived by his loving wife Margaret Greenshields, two sons and their spouses, Craig and Judith Greenshields, Clark and Tammie Greenshields; and four grandchildren, Corrie, Claire, Ryan and Sara. He was preceded in death by his two older brother's Bill and Bob. "Always look on the bright side of life"-Monty Python.
