DIES AT SON'S HOME
Funeral services for Mary F Brooks, who died at the home of her son, J.R. Brooks,of Cairo at 8 o'clock Saturday evening, were held from the Jacksonville Christian Church yesterday afternoon by the Rev. James M. Ramsey, of Bynumville. Burial was made at Oakland cemetery.
Mrs. Brooks, who was a daughter of William and Elizabeth Everhart, was the only surviving member of the Everhart family, at that time one of the best known families in Randolph and Macon counties. He two sisters, Mrs. Hugh McCanne and Mrs. Bell Craighead, were well known teachers in the two counties and her brother, Frank Everhart, was also well known.
Mrs. Brooks was married to J. B. Brooks March 20, 1864, at Callao, and was the mother of 11 children, ten of whom survive her. They are: J. R. Brooks of Cairo; F. L., Clarence, C S and R.E. of Moberly; L.E. of Kansas City, Mrs. A.W. Lingo, Temple; Mrs. Hattie J. Pigg, of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Maude Scott, of Kansas City, and Mrs. Myrtle M. Stephens of Beaumont, Tex.
There are 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brooks had been a member of the Christian Church for years.

Mollie was the third of five children and the second daughter born to William EVERHART and Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" BUNDREN.
She was born and raised in Macon County.
March 20, 1864, Callao, Macon County, Missouri; age 17, Mollie married Joseph Benjamin "Ben" BROOKS (see link)
Mollie and Ben were 3rd cousins once removed. Mollie's 3rd great grandfather was Matthew BROOKS. Matthew was Ben's 2nd great grandfather.
