"Obituary - Argo
Sianda Humphrey was born in Pike County, Ohio, July 2, 1848, and died at her home in Skidmore, December 26, 1923, aged 75 years, 5 months and 24 days.
She was married to T. B. Argo January 10, 1867, to this union eight children were born, seven of whom are living, namely: W. A. Argo, Skidmore; J. H. Argo of Quitman; Mrs. Lucy Wright of Shenadoah, Iowa; Mrs. Anna Willetts of Mound City, Kans.; and C. W. Argo of Skidmore. She is also survived by three brothers, T. M. Humphrey of Conway, Iowa; J. W. Humphrey of Shanadoah, Iowa; and A. M. Humphrey of Lenox, Iowa. There are thirty-two grand children and three great grandchildren.
She moved to Missouri in August, 1883, and has lived in or near Skidmore most of the time. She united with the Baptist church in Ohio when but a girl and later joined the Walkup Grove Baptist church and in 1900 joined the Methodist Episcopal Church in Skidmore.
Mr. Argo, who survives her, has been sick for 15 years and helpless for about five years, and Mrs. Argo has been his constant and most faithful nurse, and her constant thought was to make him as comfortable as possible. She gave herself wholly to those she loved, and when she could no longer serve, she passed on to be with her Lord.
Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon, December 28, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. J. Cokely. Burial was in the Burr Oak cemetery.
Card of Thanks
We wish to thank the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our dear wife and mother. T. B. Argo and Children."
