The obituary for Laura states she died following injuries received in falling from a mowing machine. Services were held at the Methodist Tabernacle by Rev. Gross with the Rev. W.H.Wiese of Clintonville delivering the sermon.
Laura and her daughter were assisting with the hay harvesting operation, each driving a team of horses hitched to a mower. On the way home, her team broke into a trot, throwing her from the mower to the road. She was rushed to Bellin hospital in Green Bay where she died later that evening.

She was born at Black Creek and lived in the Town of Brillion since her marriage on 30 November 1911.
