Ivy was born to parents Harriet (née Whittle) & David Roberts on the 3rd March 1927 in Golborne, Lancashire. She met her husband to be, GI Ray Cassettari who was stationed at the the American Air Base (Burtonwood Air Base), Burtonwood, Nr. Warrington they fell in love and when he was sent back to the USA with the Army; she decided to emigrate and marry him. She left England on the 6th October on the SS Queen Elizabeth and arrived in the USA 11th November 1946.

She then married Ray in 1946 at Chicopee, Massachusetts and they settled in Webster Mass. She had her first child Ronnie nearly a year later (Oct 1st 1947), sadly Ivy's brother David died when she was pregnant with Ronnie and they didn't tell her until after Ronnie was born.

Ray, Ivy & Ronnie moved to Peoria, Illinois where they had a further 2 children, Linda and Brenda. She lost her husband Ray in 1985 and Ivy herself died on the 12th March 1998 and she was buried with Ray in the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Peoria, Illinois. She loved her family.
