James Claude Middleton, 74, of 905 East Walnut St., Centerville, passed away suddenly at his home Friday, January 4, at 9:30 p.m. He was born Jan. 28, 1883, and was the son of John and Jennie See Middleton.. He had lived here for 48 years. On Dec. 23, 1914, he was united in marriage to Maude Eva Barger who survives. He worked as a miner and as a county employee for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy DeLong of Denver, Colo., two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The body is at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home and services will be held there Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m., with Rev. James Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Felkner cemetery west of Centerville.
