Last Monday forenoon Mr. Samuel Vaux, father of Mrs. D.J. Smith, was laid in his last resting place, followed thither by a large concourse of relatives and friends. Mr. Vaux had been suffering with dropsy of the heart for years, which is probably what took him away. He was pretty well advanced in years, and a most respected citizen. The sympathies of the community are extended to the relatives.
