Donna Brandon age 73 of Centerville, Iowa finally won her fight with cancer. She got to go to heaven on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.

She was born the daughter of Wilbur and Jennie(Christy)Minard on December 5, 1938. Donna worked at the telephone company in Centerville for many years, where she became lifelong friends with Fonnie Baldock of Unionville, Missouri. She subsequently worked for McGraw Edison until the company pulled out of Centerville. Donna then became employed with Ruan Company located in Des Moines before she relocated back to Centerville where she worked for Wal-Mart until her retirement.

Donna's favorite pastime was bowling. She achieved numerous trophies while bowling.

She is survived by a grand-daughter Ann(Erik)Hull of Plano, Iowa; great grand-children Haley, Cameron, Christian, and Faith Hull; two brothers, Walter(Rita)Minard of Nampa, Idaho, and Richard(Bee)Minard of Suffolk, Virginia; two sisters, Emma Lee Leopard of Plano, Iowa and Sandi(Junior)Robbins of Centerville, Iowa; one sister-in-law Roberta Minard of Queen City, Missouri, one step-sister Sue(Robert)Conger of Centerville; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved only son Eddie Dean Brandon at the age of twenty two; her father Wilbur Minard; mother Jennie Minard Sacco; step-father Vince Sacco; her youngest brother J.R. Minard; oldest sister Virginia May Minard; brothers-in-law Harold Leopard and Jack Bowen; and one nephew Tim Leopard. She was a very kind and giving person and even in death donated her eyes so two others might see.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, August 31, 2012 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. Pastor Michael McKissick will share a word of prayer with friends and family on Friday evening. A burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Jerome Cemetery, Jerome, Iowa. Memorials have been established to the Brandon Memorial Fund.
