Mary Louise Albright, age 88 of Westminster, formerly of Hampstead, died Tuesday August 28, 2012 at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center. She was born July 18, 1924 in Baltimore, daughter of the late Henry L.B. Parlett, Sr. and Louise Norris Parlett. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Albright, who died in 1980. After graduation from Towson High School, class of 1943, she attended nurse's training at Church Home and Hospital for two years. When World War II started she enlisted in the U.S. Woman's Army Nurses Corps and after training was assigned as a nurse at the Valley Forge General Hospital. She was a life member of the American Legion Post #200 in Hampstead. Mary was a machinist for Black & Decker and retired in 1983 after 33 years. Mary and her husband managed a teen center in Hampstead for 8 years. She enjoyed quilting Christening bibs, sewing and traveling. She was a 50 year member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hampstead and was assistant superintendent of the Sunday School. She was a member of St. Mark's Handbell Choir for 12 years. Mary moved to Carroll Lutheran Village in 1990 where she volunteered in many ways and served as the ombudsman for the Healthcare Center. She was currently a member of St. Luke's (Winters) Lutheran Church in New Windsor and played in the Handbell Choir. She is survived by siblings, Anne S. Durham of Upperco, MD, Henrietta Parlett of Hedgesville, WV and Henry L.B. Parlett, Jr. and wife, Darlene of Littlestown, PA; brother-in-law, Tom McLaughlin of Concord, NC; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Amanda McLaughlin and Margaret Henry "Hank" Shirley. Inurnment will be private in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery in Brodbecks, PA. A memorial service will be held 12 noon on Tuesday September 4, 2012 at Carroll Lutheran Village, Krug Chapel, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster with Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Krug Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's (Winters) Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 447, New Windsor, MD 21776.
