Margareth was born at Waldmünchen, Kreis Cham, Oberpfalz, Bayern, Germany, the daughter of Daniel L. Brückl (born July 20, 1822, at Haschaberg, Gemeinde Sinzendorf, Kreis Waldmünchen, Bavaria, Germany) and Maria Rötzer Brückl (born 1820 in Germany). Maria Rötzer died on March 14, 1864, at age 44. Daniel Brückl quickly remarried, on August 1864, to his first wife's niece, Katharina Rötzer (born Oct. 18, 1838, in Trobelsdorf, Kreis Cham, Bavaria, Germany). Twelve years after Daniel Brückl died, Katharina married Wilhelm "William" Dresen. Margareth Brückl immigrated on April 6, 1872, with her father and step-mother (Katharina Rötzer Brückl) and siblings, arriving at Castle Garden, New York. In America, the last name "Brückl" evolved into "Brickl." The family settled in Wisconsin. Margareth was married on Nov. 8, 1880, to Joseph Bindl at Franklin Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin. They had six children: Alois, Anna, Margaret, Mary, Anna (Sister Imelda), and Thecla.

From a local obituary: Mrs. Jos. Bindl Dies at Hospital. Mrs. Joseph Bindl of Franklin died at a Madison hospital Tuesday from peritonitis, which followed an operation which was performed Saturday, the 14th inst. Mrs. Bindl was taken to the hospital and the operation which was performed immediately, revealed that her appendix had bursted and infection was present. Her maiden name was Margaret Brickl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brickl, and she was born in Germany, January 4th, 1862, being 66 years, 4 months and 13 days of age at the time of death. The funeral was held at St. Luke's Catholic church at Plain this morning. Obituary next week. (Weekly Home News from Spring Green, Sauk County, Wisconsin, April 19, 1928, page 1, column 4)

The next week, the Weekly Home News published a longer obituary on April 26, 1928, page 1, column 2: Mrs. Jos. Bindl, Sr. The death of Mrs. Jos. Bindl, Sr., occurred at St. Mary's hospital, Madison at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 1928. She took suddenly ill and was rushed to the hospital, where an operation was immediately performed for acute appendicitis. The operation revealed that her appendix had bursted and infection was present. Death came after much suffering, which she bore with true Christian spirit. Margaret Brickl was born in Waldmuenschen [Waldmuenchen], Bavaria, Germany, January 4th, 1862. In the spring of 1872 she, with her parents [step-mother], Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brickl, immigrated to this country, locating on a farm about four miles northeast of Plain which is now owned by one of her nephews, Mike, J. Brickl, where she grew to womanhood. On November 8th, 1880, she was united in holy bonds of matrimony to Jos. Bindl of Plain at St. Luke's Catholic church by the Rev. Joseph Buss. They began housekeeping on the farm now owned by their son, Alois A. Bindl. This union was blessed with six children: one son, Alois A. Bindl; Mrs. Geo. W. Kreul, Sr., M. Imelda (Dominican Sister), La Crosse; Mary and Thecla, all of whom survive except one daughter who died in infancy. Besides her husband and children, to mourn her death she has eight grandchildren, two brothers, Alois and Simon Brickl, and a host of relatives and friends. The deceased was a kind and devoted wife and mother, a woman of sterling character and true Christian quality, ever thoughtful of the welfare of those dear to her. To know her was to love her. Standing within the deep shadows of the mysterious beyond, suffering the deep, intense, bitter sting of death, let us pray to the Most High that she has been admitted to that well-earned repose that comes as a reward to the good and dutiful. The funeral, largely attended by relatives and friends who gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed, was held from St. Luke's Catholic church April 19th at 9 a.m., Rev. Father Surges officiating. Interment was made in St. Luke's new cemetery. The nephews who were pall bearers are as follows: Joseph, Anton and John Brickl, Jos. M. And Robert A. Nachreiner and Joseph M. Blau. Card of Thanks. We hereby wish to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Rev. Father Surges, our neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our beloved wife and mother. Jos. Bindl, Sr., and Children.
