Fay S. (Schaffner) Bollinger, 95, died on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services South. She was the wife of the late Eugene R. Thumma and the late Vernon H. Bollinger. There will be no viewing.

Mrs. Bollinger was born April 30, 1917 in York County, the daughter of the late Samuel and Rhoda (Bair) Schaffner.

She was a seamstress with various sewing factories in the York area and worked as a distribution assistant for McCrory's Distribution Center. She was a graduate of the former Manchester H.S., a member of McCrory's Retirement Club, and enjoyed bowling, gardening and her family.

Mrs. Bollinger is survived by a daughter, Farolyn Thumma and friend Rosemary Elliott of Glen Rock; a stepdaughter, Faye Kunkel and husband Donald of York; and numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, sister and sister-in-law.

Following cremation with Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., York, a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29th at Paddletown Cemetery.
