Leonard served in NY militia during the War of 1812. He moved to Zanesville OH (1830 census)and by 1840 was living in Logan City, Hocking Co. Ohio. He is not found in 1850 Census and death not records but is believed to be buried Ohio.
He served in Capt. Samuel Kanady's company of NY Militia from Sept. 8 1812 or Sept 19 1812 (Privates pay for 12 amounted to $2.66.)
