Robert Wayne Boots of Dixie, Wash., died Oct 11, 2009, at Regency at the Park, in College Place, Wash. He was 67.
He was born Jan. 27, 1942, in Monroe, Wash., to Samuel Robert and Velma Raymond Boots. he moved to the Dixie, Wash., area 30 years ago from Washougal, and worked as a farm laborer, retiring in 1996.
His family was of utmost importance to him, and he loved spending time with them and friends. He loved the mountains and enjoyed going for drives. He loved his dogs. He was interested in the news and keeping up with current events.
His is survived by a daughter, Brenda Meyer of Walla Walla; four sisters, Susan Adams, Norma Boring and Dorothy Clay, all of Dixie, and Marilyn Beckley of West Richland, Wash.; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, in Walla Walla, Wash. Pastors Cary Fry and Elwood Boyd of the Eastgate Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate. Following the memorial service, there will be a potluck luncheon at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be in tyhe Dixie Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice, through the funeral home.
