Billie J. "Bill" Alls, 76, of Erie, Illinois, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Morrison. Billie J. Alls was born March 1, 1936 in Lynn, Arkansas, the son of Willie B. and Mabel (Rather) Alls. He married Ruth Fitzwater on August 15, 1955 in Lynn, AR, Bill was a lifetime farmer. He worked for Warkins Farms in Erie since 1966. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morrison. He and Ruth enjoyed horses and many other animals. He had been involved with the Mounted Patrol, The Tri-City Trail Riders Club among some other area trail riding clubs. He also liked riding motorcycles over the years and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife Ruth of 57 years; 4 children, Diana Alls, Morrison, Billy Alls, Rapids City, Janet (Alan) Black, Hillsdale, Susan (Brian) Neff, Coal Valley; siblings, Marie Corbitt, Opal Smith, Wilson Alls, Opha Arnold, Jennie Owens, Lois Fitzwater, John Alls, Richard Alls, Jerry Alls, Carl Alls; 10 grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Mettler, Paige Alls, Autumn (Kenny) Kinmon, Jake Benters, Nickie Benters, Phylicia (Mitch) Meier, Jett Black, Beau Black, Rahil Hyder, and Kasim Hyder; and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kristy Benters; and 4 siblings, Charlie, Robert and Ray Alls and Faye Owens.
