Arlene Alma Briggs, 70, passed away on August 23, 2012 in Webster, TX. She was born on October 16, 1941 in Rosenberg, TX to John and Edith Krajcik. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Jim Briggs. She also leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her nephews, Bobby Briggs and Brian Woods; niece, Keri Woods; cousins, Arnold Krajcik, Margie Damron and Willie Krajcik and a host of loving friends. She loved being a teacher for 41 yrs in the Pasadena Independent School District. She was part of the Pasadena Area Retired School Employees group where she enjoyed doing activities for children in need. She loved to travel and was two states short of traveling the entire country, but most of all she really loved serving others. Because of Arlene's faith and love of Christ, it led her husband, Jim to a renewed church experience. They are members of South Main Baptist Church where they made many dear friends. Jim would like to send special thanks to friends and neighbors that offered assistance while Arlene was sick, especially to John Short, PARSE friends and members of South Main Baptist Church. Arlene will be truly missed. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 27, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the viewing at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home with interment to follow in Grand View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 570127 Houston, TX 77257.
