He was born June 17, 1954 in Ottumwa to Joseph Kelley and Cinderella Boyles Janney. He married Rebecca C. Mastro(now Rebecca Janney), but even though they divorced they remained close friends throughout the years.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, Larry served with the U.S.Navy through the Vietnam war. He worked as a labor law specialist for the United States Government, working and living in many states in the country and retired after 29 years of total service to our country. He was an avid 49'ers fan, receiving a letter from the team just last year thanking him for being such a great fan throughout the years.
Surviving are two sons, Scott T. Janney of Virginia Beach, VA and Larry G. Janney II of North Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Teddy Wayne Janney who cared for Larry on his final days, Larry always called Teddy "Teddy Bear" and a sister, Sheila Phillips.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Calvin Janney.
His body has been cremated and no services are planned but you can contact Teddy to spend time with Larry before his boys take him to the ocean. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
