James Wesley Cook Jr. died Saturday, May 17, 2008. He was 32. Mr. Cook was born in Okinawa, Japan, at the Kuwe Army Hospital and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1980. He was an Eagle Scout, achieving the Order of the Arrow. Mr. Cook was a member of the St. Aloysius Class of 1994; attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity; and earned a bachelor of arts degree in business management from Curry College in Milton, Mass., in 1998. He received his commercial pilot's license with instrument rating from Comair Flight School in Sanford, Fla., in 1999. After graduation, he was a pilot with Central Air-South West Airline and Tropic Air in Belize, Central America. Mr. Cook was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He is survived by his parents, James Wesley Cook M.D. and Naomi Paquette Cook; one sister, Megan Marie Cook of Vicksburg; his paternal grandmother, Laveta Cook Koger of Walterboro, S.C.; and two uncles, John Ralph Cook of Cape Coral, Fla., and William Gary Koger of Aiken, S.C. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Naomi McCloskey Paquette; his paternal grandfather, James Ralph Cook; and two uncles, Richard Charles Paquette and John Joseph Paquette II. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Farrell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home and Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 tonight at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bruce Ebersole, Syd Johnston, Lance Boswell, Richard Lane, Peter Vincent, Edward Boyd Haren IV, Raymond Abraham, Jimmy Kendrick, Tom Harris, Mike Jackson and John Kavanaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Vincent Bonelli Jr., Brad Bradway, Jeff Wong, Glen Taylor, Howard Hennessey, Russ Bailess, Bobby Bailess, Jerry Mayfield, Damian Thomas, Jimmy Kendrick Sr., Robert "Bubba" Evans and the St. Aloysius Class of 1994. Memorials may be made to Vicksburg Catholic School, Bruce Alan Ebersole Memorial Trust, 1900 Grove St., Vicksburg, MS 39183 and to St. Paul Catholic Church, P.O.
