Grandma Nims Pass to Her Reward.
Mrs. Emily Nims, aged 82 years, died after a brief illness last Friday at the home of her son William A. Nims, south of Emerson. The funeral was held Monday morning conducted by Rev. A. E. Moore of the Emerson Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Malvern Cemetery.
Emily C. Brainard was born at Westfield, Ohio, November 5, 1822. She was married there to Eli B. Nims in 1843. They soon after moved to Bureau County, Illinois, where they lived until 1853 when they moved to Jones County, Iowa. Six sons and three daughters were born to them.
Her husband and three sons and three daughters have long preceded her to the better land. D. B., J. W., and W. A. Nims of Emerson, Iowa, Mrs. Swander of Selina, Indiana, and Mrs. George Culver of Shenandoah survive her.
For the past fifteen years she made her home with her children in Mills county. She united with the Methodist Church when a child and remained a faithful member of the same till death.
