Lowell A. Baker, of Shippensburg, died August 20, 2012, in Chambersburg.
He was born Saturday, December 30, 1944, in Littlestown, the son of the late James A. and Helen M. (Rexroth) Baker.
Lowell co-owned and co-operated Baker Brothers Excavating in Gettysburg for many years. He had been previously employed by the Adams County Prison as a corrections officer. He was currently employed as a custodian by Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.
Mr. Baker served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Hope L. (Shull) Baker; a step-daughter, Manda R. Eger of Carlisle; step-grandson, Hollis Eger; one sister, Sinda Gross of Sacramento, CA; and a niece, Bonnie Beck.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Baker, and his half-sister, Burdell Hull.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., August 23, at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville, with Rev. James R. Speelman officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville.
