Mr. Bean was born in Caldwell County to the late Stanley Bean and Ruth Roberts Bean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty C. Bean, brothers, Donald and Gary Bean and a sister Joyce Setzer.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was retired from Singer Furniture. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He loved to paint and play golf.
Survivors include his sons, Keith Bean and wife Kendra of South Port, NC, and Kevin Bean and wife Jenny of Beaufort, NC; his daughter, Tyra Lynnette Bean of Charlotte; brothers, Richard and Terry Bean; sisters, Diana Lail and Geneva Evans. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren to cherish his memory.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Reverend John Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
