David was the son of Delia Libby (born ca. 1856 in Florida) and the stepson of David Libby (born ca. 1830 in Maine.) He and Vassie L. Libby married ca. 1909 and had, in addition to the three unnamed children buried in their plot, (at least) the following children:
* Frances Libby Dyke McNair (1910-2002),
* Evelyn Libby Miller (1912-1996,) &
* Marian Libby (Mrs. Earl) Brown (1916-1990.)

David completed two years of college and worked as a bookkeeper at a sawmill and then at a wholesale lumber company, He owned a home at 704 First Street, NW, in Moultrie.

Information other than that taken from grave (see "Inscription") came from US Census enumerations for 1900 (with mother, stepfather, and siblings in Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia,) 1910 (with spouse and son in Thomasville,) 1920, 1930 (with spouse and children in Moultrie, Colquitt County, Georgia,) and 1940 (with spouse, married daughter, and father-in-law in Moultrie;) and U.S., World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918.
