Mrs. Martha Ann Alexander, 91, member of pioneer family of Humphreys County and for the past 10 years a resident of Gibson County, died at the home of her son east of here following an illness of several months. Mrs. Alexander was born and reared in Montgomery County. She was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church and Waverly chapter of Eastern Star. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Dan[sic] A. Wyly, of Washington, D. C., and six sons, A. C. Alexander of Leroy, Ala., James N. Alexander of Humboldt, John P. Alexander of San Benito, Texas, Will J. Alexander of Hull, Texas, and M. M. Alexander of Waverly, Tenn. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Ebenezer Methodist Church near Hustburg, Tenn., with local pastor and the Waverly Chapter of Eastern Star officiating. Burial followed in Ebenezer Cemetery with Hunt Funeral Home in charge.
