The funeral of Commander Mitchell took place at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, from his late residence, on R Street, between Thirteenth and Fourteenth Streets Northwest. Impressive and solemn funeral services were held at the house, after which the cortege, headed by a company of Marines and their band, slowly wended its way to Oak Hill, where the deceased officer was buried with naval honors.
