About forty years ago before I started researching the family. My uncle took me to the cemetery to put flowers on the grave site. I asked him who the Col. John was. He told me that he was the father-in-law to Almanzer and went to live with them shortly after his wife died. He did not known anything more about his wife. John had
lived in Casco, Maine prior to to moving to
Windham.
Parents were Enoch Jaquis 1780 - 1859 and Lucy Downing 1786 - 1869 were living in 1810 in Windham, ME. Enoch was living in 1820 Poland, Maine. Could not find him in 1830. In the 1840 and 1850 he was living in Parishville, St. Law Co, N. Y.
