In June 1900 Lena Vandonge (15 years old, born in March 1885 in Kansas, at school), her father Peter Vandonge (41, February 1859, Holland, immigrated in 1880, farmer), mother Margaret (37, March 1863, Holland, immigrated in 1872, mother of 1 deceased and 11 living children), siblings Jennie (20, August 1880, Kansas), John (17, January 1883, Kansas), Bertha (14, March 1886, Kansas), Mary (11, June 1889, Kansas), Daniel (10, March 1890, Kansas), Paul (7, February 1893, Kansas), Hannah (5, February 1895, Kansas), Bart (4, June 1896, Kansas), Adam (2, April 1898, Kansas) and Katie (4 months, January 1900, Kansas) were living on their own farm in Erving Township, Jewell County, located in the extreme northern part of Kansas.

In April 1930 Lena Boxum (45, widow, farmer), her children Pete A (19, laborer), Albertus M (18, laborer), Fannie (17), Margaret (16), Harold (13), Henry (12), Lloyd (10) and Bertha (8) were living on her own farm in still Lincoln Township, Smith County, Kansas.

Widow Lena died in March 1969 at the age of 84 years, probably at her last residence place, Cawker City, located about 6 miles east of Downs, Mitchell County, Kansas.
