Lester Banning, a longtime resident of Del City and Pastor of Del Haven Tabernacle in Del City for 37 years passed away August 16, 2012. Lester was born June 7, 1920 to Frank and Myrtle (Bartholomew) Banning in Cleveland County, Oklahoma. He married Juanita Shelton, January 29, 1941 and they had three children, Betty, Tom and John. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myrtle and his two brothers, Harvey and Leo.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Juanita, his sister, Mae Mitchell and husband, Bill, his daughter, Betty Rogers and husband, Tom, his son, Tom and wife, Wanda, his son, John, and wife, Denise. Lester is also survived by nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, one sister-in-law, Dorothy Holmes, and two brothers-in-law, Jack and Mack Shelton.

Lester enjoyed people and sowing in their lives spiritually and materially over the years. His enjoyment was spending time with family, fishing and boating and annual trips to Roaring River and Lake Eufaula with family.
