Mrs. Betty Abney, 76, of LaFayette died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at Bethany House in Auburn.
A graveside service is planned for Saturday, Aug. 11 at 4 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in LaFayette with the Rev. Wayne Barrett officiating.
Mrs. Abney is survived by her daughter, Danita (Jeffrey) Dodgen of LaFayette; two sons, Jeff (Laurie) Abney of Valdosta, Ga. and David (Regina) Abney of LaFayette; one sister, Dorothy (Thomas) Cobb of Eclectic, Ala.; two sisters-in-law, Martha Welch of Alpharetta, Ga., and Sue Norgard of Montgomery; two brothers-in-law, Ted Lynn of Edgefield, S.C., and Joe Boyd of Opelika; 12 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Abney was born Dec. 19, 1935 in Chambers County. She was retired from the East Liberty Baptist Association. Mrs. Abney was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Jeff Jones Funeral Home of LaFayette is handling arrangements.
