Resident of Pittsburg Horace "Sotsie" Abono, 83, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Kaiser Hospital, Walnut Creek. He was a native and lifelong resident of Pittsburg. For 30 years, Sotsie worked as a car salesman and last worked for Al Eames Ford. He was an avid boater and fisherman. Sotsie is survived by his loving partner, Elena; daughters, Nedra Petty and husband, Lewis, Pamela Schwartz and husband, Danny, Toni Morris, Gay Bettis and husband, Danny, Kay Nunez and husband, Joe, and Stephanie Thomas and husband, Greg; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Rose LaMacchia and husband, Mario; sister-in-law, Caroline Abono. Visitation begins Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 4 p.m., with a vigil at 7 p.m. at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral Liturgy, Thursday, October 26, 2006, 10 a.m., at Church of the Good Shepherd.
