Resident of Pittsburg

A lifelong resident of Pittsburg, Andrew graduated from Pittsburg High and attended Diablo Valley College. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed by U.S. Steel for 40 years, and after retiring, he began a second career, working for Teresi Trucking for 10 years.

Andrew was active in his church, serving as an usher for over 65 years. For relaxation, he enjoyed dancing and all sports, but his true passion was bocce. He received many sporting awards, and was instrumental in starting the Contra Costa Indoor Bocce League. Over the years, he served as president of many organizations.

Andrew is survived by his loving wife Vickie of 66 years, devoted children Nick (Sharon) of Antioch, Margaret Markwith of Concord, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Rosa Aiello, seven brothers, three sisters, his son Joseph, and son-in-law Robert Markwith.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation at 4 pm with a vigil at 7 pm on Wed. June 8th at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Thur. June 9th at 10 am at Good Shepherd Church. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Church or the charitable organization of your choice.
