The funeral service will be Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery with military rites at the graveside by VFW Post 6097, Columbia, KY.
Mr. Acree had recently been baptized into Christ.
He was a U. S. Army World War II veteran, a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion. He was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College, and an avid bird hunter and baseball player.
The family request visitation after 4:00 P.M. on Friday, April 28, 2006, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
He was the son of the late Fred Nathan and Jennie Ross Acree of Adair County, Kentucky.
Mr. Acree is survived by the following:
Clara Hayes, Ann Arbor MI; Minnie Dermody, Dexter, MI; and Ren Hoskinson and her husband Henry, Louisville, KY.
Several nieces and nephews and a special friend, John Bledsoe, Glens Fork.
And by his dog, Smokey.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, A.V.. Acree, Ross Acree and Joe Acree; and by two brothers in law, Tom Dermody and Bill Goff and by two sisters in law, Mae Acree and Iris Acree.
