Frederick was the son of Maskiel Bacon (found on the 1820 census of Hannibal NY) & Sarah Hudson. He was born in 1794 in Hartford Connecticut. His brother was Hudson Bacon one of the founding members of a investment company called Western Emigration Company that established a settlement called Pike later called Southport..known today as the city of Kenosha.

In "The History of Kenosha" the story of the first settlers that emigrated from Hannibal New York, describes how the "Western Emigration Company" was created.

Hiram Bacon (cousin)was hired as a agent by John Bullen Jr. and Deacon Cephas Weed (Hirams Uncle) was one of the first settlers...

The Western Emigration Company dissolved by Dec 1836..

By 1844 Frederick left (Kenosha) South Port, Wisconsin and moved with his son James Monroe Bacon to the community of Ceresco (Ripon). They were the first to settle in that area.

According to Record Book of Wisconsin Phalanx- Book I, Part two..Oct 20, 1845 an application for membership in the Phalanx from Frederick Bacon was presented, read and referred to the committe. The committee reported adversely on the application and was adopted by council.
