Marilyn's grandparents are Joseph Ansel Stepanek (1865-1949) and Mary Sophia (Buhman) Stepanek (1867-1937). Her great grandparents are Anna Maria (Mangelsdorf) Buhman (1939-1924) and Henry Buhman (1832-1922). Her great great grandparents are Joachin Christoph Mangelsdorff (1803-1850) and Anna Dorothea (Zander) Mangelsdorf Stehwien (1813-1884).

Marilyn is the only child of William Edward Frank and Laura Esebel (Stepanek) Stepanek.

For 33 years Marilyn worked in Concordia, KS, at the Concordia Radio Station as Office Manager and National Sales Representative. Marilyn was a 4-H leader for over 20 years. Her hobbies were sewing and bowling.

Marilyn married Earl Gene Havel on September 27, 1958, in Ottawa, Kansas, in the United Presbyterian Church. He was born in 1938. They divorced in Kansas. Gene survived Marilyn.

Marilyn and Gene had 3 daughters, three granddaughters, and two grandsons, all of whom survived her.

Marilyn married Jim Bowman who survived her.
