Born July 28, 1943, in Carthage, she was the daughter of Vernon and Claris Neally Smith. In 1987, she married David Jones in Carthage.
Mrs. Jones worked 29 years as licensed practical nurse at Hancock County, Ill., Nursing Home in Carthage.
She attended school in Plymouth, Ill., and Carthage and earned a nursing degree at Carl Sandburg College in Carthage.
She enjoyed reading, cooking and going to the casino with friends. She also enjoyed time with and making afghans for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Dale Bolton of Hamilton, Ill.; one daughter, Karen Goetz of Keokuk; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ron Smith of Minier, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage.
