ROCHELLE - James Keith Conour, 76, of Rochelle died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Rochelle Community Hospital. He was born May 24, 1928, in Rochelle, the son of James T. Conour and Ruth C. (Stocking) Smith. He married Beverly Pearce on June 1, 1947, in Rochelle United Methodist Church; Tuesday, June 1, 2004, is their 57th wedding anniversary. Keith worked at Sawicki Motors from 1964 to 1979 as the sales and general manager; he then owned and operated Conour Shoes in downtown Rochelle from 1979 to 1996. He was a member of the Tebala Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters, a 32nd-degree Mason, past president of the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, former member of the board of directors at the Rochelle Savings and Loan and the Rochelle Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his half brother, Richard Conour. Survivors include his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, half brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service in Rochelle United Methodist Church. Cremains interred on a later date in Lawnridge Cemetery.
